Photo © 2008 Ana YturraldeIt was a warm night... in the ghetto. People out in the street talking in groups at every corner. Cars and carts going up and down the street. A so alive neighborhood with such a proud ghetto taste and a community atmosphere.
I really enjoyed the process that brought me into this photo. Almost midnight with an easy going mood, sharing a coke and a friendly talk, I got my camera and started shooting around while these girls, timid but amusing were laughing at the back of the place. Although it was not my first time here, I was a stranger for them with a very different look that talked in a different language. But the camera and the shooting started building a fun rapport. Gaining confidence and after several non posed great shots, they asked me to take them this picture. Funny girls!
Everytime I go to this place somebody tells me: "This is a ghetto". And I love it.

Interesante tu trabajo, sobre todo el blanco y negro. Algo que con la llegada del digital se ha perdido. Una lastima que mi ingles sea tan malo como para no poder entender bien tus reflexiones.

Mil gracias, Insurreccion. Me encanta que mi trabajo te parezca interesante (sobre todo el b/n). A pesar de que el color es lo que nos rodea mostrando la realidad tal cual es, para mí -y es por eso por lo que lo utilizo- el b/n con sus texturas y sombras expresa mucho mejor la intensidad de sentimientos, momentos, miradas.... en definitiva, el b/n nos acerca más al alma de lo que fotografiamos.... Siento que no puedas seguir al 100% mis reflexiones pero me basta con que sigas mis imágenes sin cansarte porque sigas considerándolas buenas. Mi trabajo está unido a mi alma y sin duda alguna, con la necesidad de seguir produciendo. Mi evolución será también la que dicte mi alma...
