When you wake up in front of a wide sea with seagulls flying around and the only sound of the waves, you start thinking of values.
These pictures were taken at the Gueule Tapeé Hospital. Life is the most important value. They don't have a good medical infrastructure, no medical equipment, broken beds, broken pipes, moldy and flaking walls where paint has come off... but there is a high value that keeps them fighting: Life.
We all should have big values to follow with eyes close and open heart.

Tremendo el hospital! Mucho merito tiene trabajar en esas condiciones.
Y no te puedes ni imaginar en qué estado estaban las habitaciones...
El director del hospital me explicó que a pesar de las pésimas condiciones en las que trabajan, siguen haciéndolo porque sigue llegando gente sin recursos económicos que necesitan cualquier atención médica, por mínima que sea. Te aseguro que tienen toda mi admiración. Después de dos días de reportaje se te transforma el alma....
Impresionante la historia del hospital, y las fotos...
Hacer el reportaje del hospital fue una experiencia única. Te traslada a otro mundo en el que olvidas todo lo superfluo y solo ves y valoras lo básico. Ojalá reciban algún día las ayudas que merecen.
Con las fotos.... hice lo que pude intentando no entrometerme demasiado. El respeto fue más fuerte que mi sed fotográfica. Aún así traje un número aceptable de fotos que entregué al departamento de medicina tropical del hospital de Valencia y quedaron encantados!
